Sober Living
Summit Care and Wellness began their sober living program in an effort to offer men and women in recovery a safe and affordable, substance-free environment to pursue life goals, compatible with sobriety. Summit’s sober living provides transitional living for men and women who have successfully completed an alcohol/drug treatment program and who have chosen to live a clean and sober lifestyle and who are actively pursuing recovery.
The “journey to the top of the mountain” is a difficult one and we don’t want you to face it alone, but within the support of a caring community of individuals who know your struggle first-hand. Summit’s sober living fosters an environment where individuals can experience growth in all areas of their lives – mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It is our hope that by addressing these areas, you’ll be able to make a smoother transition back into the community.
Centrally located near downtown Lincoln, our housing is convenient to retail and dining establishments, social services, and two major bus routes. It is also within walking distance of community support meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
The Program Directors of our sober living are certified and licensed counsellors who understand the nature and course of addictions. A traditional Twelve Step approach is the core for programming. Individuals are accepted into the sober living program by means of referral from treatment programs, organizations/institutions, other professionals or self-referrals. Initial contact is made by phone, in writing or through the website or email. Screening criteria includes questions about the individual’s alcohol/drug history, treatment history and present commitment to recovery. Requirements and expectations for individuals who are considering applying are available upon request.
